Re: Race for the Finis...
Thanks to all who volunteered to be proofreaders - think I have enough.
Hit 58k today and I think the end is in sight. Hoping to have a first draft by the end of next week. Then I'll do some tweaking during November and send it out for the first couple of weeks of Dec.
Hopefully some kind of launch party w/c 20th December.
Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion!
Cheers,
Drew.

Any chance this could be made at around the 16th/17th December rather than the 20th to coincide with the London meet-up?drew wrote:Hopefully some kind of launch party w/c 20th December.

Might be possible, though it will be a stretch!another_commander wrote:Any chance this could be made at around the 16th/17th December rather than the 20th to coincide with the London meet-up?drew wrote:Hopefully some kind of launch party w/c 20th December.
One more major scene to write and then it's general tidying and continuity checking.
Cheers,
Drew.

Keep up the good work, Drew!
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

Looking forward to it. I'm in a Greg Bear spout right now, but running out of books.

Re: Race for the Finis...
Just to advise. A slightly tweaked version of this will be making an appearance in 'Finis'.Selezen wrote:How about this:
The GA-14G4 "Meerkat" multirole clipper, packing front and rear military lasers as standard from the workshop (with capacity for a turret mounted beast on top) as well as room for 50T cargo and 8 missile bays. It has Navy spec engines and double-strength shield generators.
If you can find a crew of only three to take on board with you, then you'll experience the most manoeuvrable, most customisable ship of its size you'll ever have flown. It packs the firepower and looks of an Imperial Courier tempered with the comfort and convenience of a Fer-de-Lance.
<ahem>
OK, it's not actually from an OXP but it's from a huge list of ships that I have designed but never had time to finish or put into an OXP. It's actually based on the player ship from Galaga, which makes it a nice touch to add to a game like Oolite. It's also the best looking of the models I've designed and I would be singularly honoured to have it featured in the Wagar-Ooliteverse.
Cheers,
Drew.

Derik learns his foe's tactics, and uses those tactics against them ~ including Rebecca's slide dodging.drew wrote:Just to advise. A slightly tweaked version of this will be making an appearance in 'Finis'.Selezen wrote:How about this:

That said, like on an IC, those outrigger pods look vulnerable.
Running Oolite buttery smooth & rock stable w/ tons of eyecandy oxps on:

59k now. Currently reviewing the overall draft. So far, with a few minor edits, it's hanging together well.

Re: Race for the Finis...
Houston, we have a first draft. 63k words. Woohoo!
I will use the rest of this week to review it myself, and then it's over to my happy band of proofers!
Cheers,
Drew.
