Better speed in 1.63 and odd exhaust bug

Post by Wiggy »

Just a note to say that 1.63 seems smoother, and with a better object/fps ratio than before on my G3 iBook. (Panther). Fewer hiccups, too.

I'm also enjoying seeing the exhaust plumes out the rear view, although I did manage to get the plumes stuck on my front view once. Unable to recreate this, though.

The forward drift in Strict Oolite is just right, too.

I haven't used the "Reset to strict gameplay" as yet, apart from the blinking obvious what does it actually do!

I have tried the different screen resolutions, and it totally messed up, so I've not tried any of the other options like that untill Winston's memory gobbler fix. Switching the reduced detail to 'ON' was a revelation!

It was created to avoid dissent from those who thought some new features detracted from the "original" Elite. (Or indeed that features in the original game should not be implemented in Oolite.)

I think most OXPs don't work in it - not sure about missions.

I don't actually play it myself, but thought I'd test the "drift" that Giles added in 1.63, since I sort of suggested it.

No, it disables any OXPs - but the original missions are still there.
