Post by christina »

HI everyone. I BACK... GOSh OOlote has changed .. and i have added a LOT of new oxps... thank sung and griff and the gang... nice stuff..

So, the problem .( first i have now added to my "addon's folder over a GIG of oxps...WOW!).....

BUt the random docking msic opx does ot 'seem' to work ..i have the station radio 'chatter' in the back ground ,Would this be causing the problem...no i removed and the problem remains...
i followed the "adding music instructs correctly" still the same music plays ...

any advice?

also, i have been changing some ofthe textures. would any one like to have a look at anew one for the nuit station?
how do i put them here?

Hi christina... I know zilch about sound oxps, but if you want to post a pic here, get it hosted somewhere (like photobucket etc), then post the 'thumbnail' link.

I've not used the RDM OXP since Oolite 1.74, but according to the wiki it does work and is compatible with the BGS OXP. The 'radio chatter' is from the BGS OXP, and does block hearing the standard docking music a bit.

The thing to do is to check you have followed the instructions properly.

1) Is the music in Ogg Vorbis format? xxx.ogg for example. Did you use a converter such as Audacity to make the music, and didn't just simply rename the .mp3 to .ogg?

2) Is the .ogg music in a folder called Music, inside the RDM Oxp folder?

3) Have you editted the file randomDockingMusic.js properly? If you editted it with Windows Notepad then that could be a problem as Notepad inserts extra characters that are not compatible with Oolite!?

Hold the SHIFT key while starting Oolite to force a rebuild of the cache. This is always necessary when you've changed a script.

MS Wordpad will serve, but Notepad++ is free to download, and much nicer.

The best recommendation is to download Notepad++

http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v5.9.4.html

Alternatively - WordPad (not Word!) will do an OK job.

EDIT: Ninja'd by a scant few seconds!

Hi christina... go to photobucket, open a basic account, which is free. Then upload your pics... you can resize them in photobucket, if needed. For each pic in your album, there'll be several links available. Copy the 'thumbnail' link, and paste it into a post here on the forum.

Edit to add: as maik says, if you want to post the full size image (max width 1000), use the 'IMG' link, not the 'thumbnail' link.
