Steve Jobs has passed away...

We have lost a visionary... :(
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

56 is too young, like him or hate him...

Imagine how Tim Cook (sp?) must've felt on that stage for that new iphone, very probably knowing already it was going to be the end of his mentor and friend very soon...

I had mixed feelings about Steve. He turned a backward compatible computing lovely into something profitable but "of the moment."

With law suits and patent wars beginning to gather, I can see troubling times ahead for apple.
Whilst I would not wish anyone dead, there is a small solace in a pioneer leaving on a high.

Fair thee well Mr Jobs.

Sad to see him go and grateful for his creating computers and devices that, for me, improve the productivity/config&admin ratio way above the alternatives. ymmv.

Somewhere out there, a hardware lab with infinite resources just got a new ideas man.

Crazy thought, how about a mod to the Tionisla Orbital Graveyard oxp to have a specially skinned ship.
Brushed aluminium with a single Apple logo on it.

RIP Steve.

Yeah, but we'd then need to add a Blue Ship of Death when Bill Gates dies

I guess you could even have a blue screen of death for a hyper jump, based on the BGS shader work (which is really fantastic by the way). Just that it destroys you

Given that Oolite started out as a Mac project, I think an Apple addition to the TOGY would be nice.

Maybe with this printed on it:

I just added your picture as illumination map on top of the headstones. Illumination only works good for the grey stones, not for the already black ones.

That's lovely - Eric - ideal in fact. (Although in true Apple fashion - the stone should be white)
