Pylons

Post by Commander Trigg »

With the large number of OXP-added missiles and pylon-mounted goodies and the low number of spaces available on the average ship, what you choose to mount can have a significant effect on the outcome of a battle and gameplay in general. With that in mind, I was wondering what people here choose to load up with.

I currently have a Q mine, 2 hardhead 2 cargo shepherds and a salvage missile.
Now over 1000 confirmed kills. Bring on the bad guys!

Four pylons... four hardheads!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Five pylons - normally five hardheads (or if I might be thinking of travelling off the beaten track, four hardheads and a GalDrivePod).

currently have a Vortex:
7 extra fuels
6 hard heads
12 military missiles

The extra fuels come in handy when a.)Thargoids are around or b) I meet with a swarm of evil doers out to get my scalp or c) I accidently shoot an enforcer or a seedy bar while doing a close in furball fight.
The hard heads are for targeting victims when bounty hunting
the military missiles are reserved for Thargoids.

having a ball with this combination.

I started over with a new savefile (but I'm not using it for long I think... I got addicted to the Caddy).
One pylon. One standard missile. (I'm not much of a threat right now  )

Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

My usual loadout is one drop tank, two nukes, and military missiles. Sometimes a cascade torp depending on what the contract asks me to demolish.

I haven't played for a while put I was contemplating editing my Cobra MKIII so that I only had 25TC cargo (inc. Extension Bay), but more missile slots - justifying to myself that the fuel tanks were "internal" and hence the loss of cargo space.

Haven't got round to it yet.

So I currently carry two hardheads and two fuel tanks (as I spend most of my time running away)
