Despite the outstanding contributions of Ahruman to the continued development and refinement of Oolite, I am firmly convinced that, just as when Giles informed us that he could no longer whole-heartedly devote every waking moment to Oolite, we will continue to grow and develop.

I actually think we are in an even healthier state than at the time of Giles departure, and Ahruman will still be involved in completing this cycle of development. The game has transformed way beyond what I, and many others I suspect, expected following Giles departure, and he has expressed his pleasure at what has been achieved.

Change is not automatically a good thing, but it does sometimes reflect the rhythms of life, and does give rise to opportunities for unexpected growth.
Very funny, Scotty, now beam down my clothes...

Well said that man.

Sorry to hear you're stepping back, Ahruman.

You've done an awesome job though. You've taken Oolite from its place as a Mac game with aspersions to PC and Linux greatness to a game that me (and many others) would happily part with cash for on ANY platform. You gave us graphics that would pus some commercial games to shame and you gave us physics that Einstein would take a step back and gaze at in awe.

Thank you.

Now, all those OXP writers and graphics wizards that talk all the big talk can get to work making lovely things to show off all the work you've done. Yeah.

I hear in the grapevine of a few great pieces of work coming together just nicely that fit the bill.
Find out about the early influences of Fatleaf here. Also his OXP's!

Oh!

Well, I hope this situation did not drag you down in general. Or if it did, that you are already recovering.

Thank you very much, and best wishes.

There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Ahruman.

My only hope is that you fully realise the pleasure you have brought to so many.

Go forth and enjoy life.

That much has been earned.

Ahruman, good luck and may you never be too successful!
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

Can I just say, as someone who has only recently become aware of Oolite, that I admire you enormously for the work you have done. I have been living a life devoid of blasting Thargons, pirates et al for far too long now (over 20 years!) and I cannot tell you how thoroughly delighted I am with everything you and the guys have come up with and done with what, to me, is the best game ever devised. You have done an absolutely fantastic job and I thank you (and all others involved) for all that you have done from the bottom of my heart.
