Atlas

Post by RyanHoots »

Edit: Ship name changed to Atlas.

I've just started an Oolite project. I am going to create my own, one-of-a-kind OXP ship. I will not have an official OXP for download, but the model will probably be free to download. Here's a screenshot of what I have so far:

I am not done with the model, so it will look different when it's done. I am delaying my current Koneko Industries OXP project for now.

Ryan,
Hope all goes well with this. Looks like it could be really unique looking.
Is it intended to be as big as it currently looks?

Have fun

Yes, it will probably be large. I'm thinking about a crew of ten or so... it should be larger than a Caduceus, but smaller than an Anacoda. 200 TC cargo bay.

Atlas Prototype #2:

I replaced the catamaran style secondary hulls with Warp Nacelles (I couldn't resist). I am planning a command module. Basically, the model in the above picture is decapitated.

The Atlas is going well. I am so sorry I do not yet have an in-game screenshot, but I have more information:
Lasers are Orange, to mimic Phasers. Warp Nacelles have blue flashers on them. The ship is a very dark red, almost black, except for the Nacelles, which have a few gray faces (but they are partly dark red). The Atlas has a crew of 15, 200 TC cargo capacity, and a DCN.
Work has resumed on my other OXP, Koneko Industries. I am working on a mission that might include this ship...

Nice ship. I have to say though, I like the first one more than the second. It would be a shame to let that first model go to waste - maybe scale it down and have it as an escort of the Atlas?

Sorry, I didn't save the model after I went on to make the second... it was way too messed up. It was... sloppy. The new model was made with more care. I am planning on making some escort ships to go with the Atlas, though...
