Hello
I have been a long time speccy user and got used to so called "sinclair interface 2" controls (6,7,8,9,0).
I'm using it wherever possible, but this isn't the case in oolite, since they are mapped some these keys to marker list, galaxy map, etc.
I tried to set "key_roll_left", "key_roll_right", etc to these numeric keys, but failed
So, is there any way to unlink utility functions from numeric keys? They are still accessible via F{num} keys.

Re: Override numeric keys
Unfortunately the bindings of the F[num] and corresponding numeric keys are hardcoded and therefore inseparable. What I would recommend as a next best option would be to assign the functionality you want to four other keys that are positioned in the same row, maybe like 'YUIO' and remap those keys' functions to other free keys. On SDL builds and on a US-layout keyboard, there are free key slots in the default mapping on "q", "o", "=", "k", "x", "b", "[", "]", ";", " ' " and "/", plus a few secondary ones which require Shift so they may not be practical.
