They'll get in trouble for using Google's logo (and maybe the overly Google-ish layout of the page)

Also, it seems to be a Firefox plug-in, so no use to non-Firefox users

These guys seem to be on the case with the same issue.

Also, with a 7yr old in the house, I've found the family filters to be much better, although it could be that I just never worked out the google ones properly.

They're both pretty useless for picture searches, or so it looks at first glance....

If I was running the Echelon project, those are just the sort of sites I would set up...

Re: Anonmyzing Google Searches
But who are you hiding from? The 3 letter agencies or advertisers?
The government can talk to your isp, and even if you do everything over https (which you dont), things like dns tell enough of the story. Scroogle wont hide you from the men in black for sure.
Anyone who thinks an anonymised search hides much is seriously misinformed anyway. Enough sites use google analytics or ads that google already owns your soul. Even if you dont use gmail, i bet a decent proportion of your mail is to or from it. Use an alternative and sooner or later the google-borg will buy it and assimilate your details.

Re: Anonmyzing Google Searches
I've never worried about these things.
My google profile:
He goes to www.aegidian.org, he goes to facebook.com, he goes to google.co.uk, he goes to news.bbc.co.uk, he goes to amazon.com he goes to barclays.co.uk, he updates his blog at wagar.org.uk... rinse and repeat.
Earth shattering stuff!
Cheers,
Drew.

Re: Anonmyzing Google Searches
I always like being a number. As I'm the only one on the planet with my actual name, it makes me feel comfortably anonymous. Ah to be a John Smith... (although I probably wouldn't like that either )
