Tharglets.

Post by Fatleaf »

Is it just me or does anybody else seem to be getting only 5.0cr for about 50% when you shoot them?

Edit: I can confirm this is for active and deactivated drones.

I wish I was (personal bugbear of mine), but normally only get that if they have been scooped then released again.
All tharglets, or just inactive ones?

I think, as Thargoid ships (more like weapons), They should have a higher bounty. I have seen very low bounty Thargons, as well.

Lasers. When I first target them with either a missile lock or the ident system. I have bounty scanner oxp installed. It tells me the value of it before I even shoot it. And it proves to be accurate.

I will try to do a test without any oxp's to see if there is an issue with one of those.

I've seen them show 5.0 credits when targeting them and report 5.0 credits when killing them...but my total credit amount seems to go up 50.

I have seen similar situation with asteroids. Running Long Range Scanner and Bonus Scanner an asteroid appears in the LRS listing with a value of 10 if you select it when the hud locks on it shows 1.0cr this does not happen with ships. If I select a pirate showing a bonus of 33 in LRS when the hub opens it is shown with 33cr. The value listed in Bonus Scanner is the one added to my credits.
With Tharglets I have seen values of 5, 50 and 114 cr, I get the impression that this varies depending upon whether the mother ship is still present and whether the Tharglet still has fuel. If thay have only 5cr it is obviously better value to scoop them and sell the alien items.

The code gives you one-tenth of the bonus as bounty for an asteroid, that's hard coded in - I remember reading that a long time ago when the ability to check bounties became available.

Correct, and the same is valid for cargo. There you also collect only 10% of the defined bounties. But, for some reason cargo with a role of "tharglet" is excluded from this rule, hence you still get the 50 credits. I assume that in the case of 5Cr you have killed some custom tharglets that don't have a "tharglet" in their rolelist.
