I grew up with the rogue-like genre and for some reason always seemed fascinated with the one life to live model. I realize that limited lives and keeping scores might be out of the spirit of oolite, so feel free to bash me.
Has anyone mentioned keeping an online scoreboard, a memorial for fallen ships with a print out of their stats and how and where they died? I was thinking of an OXP that only allowed one death and sent these stats via an encrypted key or JSON packet to a php script with a simple mysql database on the site. Might be a neat new way to interact with the community?

There is already such a thread as such it is called Oolite Darwin awards.
Find out about the early influences of Fatleaf here. Also his OXP's!
