Oolite Game Startup Glitch

Post by mandoman »

This is something that has been happening whenever I open Oolite to play, in every version I've played. When The Oolite screen comes up, it's in a miniature frame up in the left corner, or right in the top center. I have to either shut it down, and restart, or click several times on the full screen button to bring it up to full screen. That last process can go on for three, or four attempts before hashing out. Has anyone else experienced this, and do you know if there is a fix, or something I need to adjust on my computer? Once I get it to full screen, I don't usually have any more problems. Thanks. :)

Hey mandoman, I don't have much experience or knowledge in this area. Perhaps someone with a good idea what your problem might be could step in and help you out. Usually posts like this get a response in less than a day so hang in there. Someone will be along shortly I'm sure. :)
Perhaps you could state your computer operating system and any other relevant information while you are waiting for a reply. Maybe this has happened before to others with similar OS.
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

I'm using Jaunty with an Nvidia GF6600GT and the Nvidia Linux drivers (can't remember the version number) - I sometimes get what you describe for a fraction of a second but it always recovers and I never have to do anything. (I'm running 1.74.x on an old AthlonXP 2800+ with 2.5GiB RAM)

I'll try getting the Linux drivers for this machines hardware, though I thought that GNUSTEP pretty much gets everything it needs with Getit. It's a good start, though. Thanks.
