Lost save file?

Post by Oathbreaker »

Managed to get started and did a few trading runs Diso-Leesti.

Hit Quick Save.

Quit game.

Reloaded game.

Load previous commander doesn't work.

Load Saved Game brings up a dialog box but I can't find the file that I thought I had saved. The folder that unzipped on installation is still on my desktop, but there's no saved file in there.

Version beta 1.75.2

I never use quick save, but I think its quick because is does not save anything to disk, only to memory. Useful when your commander dies, but not when you quit the game itself.

I only use F2-Quick Save: I've never encountered any problems reloading after quitting the game.

@ Oathbreaker: the saved game should be in Users/whoever*/oolite-saves

*"whoever" being of course the name of your home directory!

For some reason I thought it was only stored in memory because of the word 'fast'.

I started playing Oolite with version 1.52 or 1.55 under osx Jaguar. At that time it crashed quite often and I wanted to save on each docking. I ignored the fast option and did so the past years until this week. You are right, it just saves under the last know filename.
