mouse problem

mouse problem
Please help. I can't get the mouse to work. In options full screen is set (but protected) I'm using window 7 64bit. Docs state that full screen must be on and SHIFT/(CNTL) M toggles the mouse but this doesn't work. What stupid mistake am I making. Thanks.
