Ferocious Felines

I had a falling out with our 15 year old cat tonight - he stole a sausage - I objected and took it back - he objected to my objection...

Normally he's allowed to be the mighty hunter and scoop away the remains of the food he fancies once we've finished - but tonight, he got bored waiting sitting in the chair next to me until he decided I'd finished my food, and I hadn't...

I grabbed the back of his neck, which normally turns him into limp kitten and this time turned him into whirling dervish. He's been fighting with some of the other cats in the area so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and presume he's got a sore neck from the fight.

He's currently hiding under the bed - so I'm going to call it a draw (in the style of Vietnam)

I have two parallel white lines on the other arm, where, 12 years ago when he moved in with my now wife (then girlfriend, they came as a package deal) and he was used to being the Alpha-male, I put him right, but I had to go to A&E - I'm allergic to cats and the two gashes wouldn't knit back together where he raked me with his back legs.

He's a big Persian/Feral cross (long story) and keeps his claws incredibly sharp, but I can forgive him two particularly vicious moments in twelve years.

You seem to have forgotten that your cat is not a pet: you are the pet of your cat. The domestication of human beings by cat is an interesting adventure seems to have started with only 5 african wild cats. As said in Wikipedia, Cats have either a mutualistic or commensal relationship with humans.
On my left arm, I have some scarves similar but done by my girlfriend.

On the other hand, we all are only the pets of grass. Grass is the real ruler of the world, and has domesticated us quite perfectly.

Still, nice scratch you have there, DH. You'll be able to brag in front of your fellow cat-owners for a long time.

And now your cat is hiding under the bed, having no clue why his human got so inexplicably violent so suddenly. He'll probably take some time before being able to forgive you. (Yes, I have had cats, too.)

Me and the cat are now fine - he waited patiently by his bowl this morning waiting for me to fill his bowl with cat food before I dared to fill mine with cereal. (He has been known to close the cupboard door on the cereal collection if his bowl is insufficiently stocked before I switch my attention to my own sustenance needs...)

To enter in details, I was trying to teach her to swim, she panicked as we were going deeper and use her claws (one should say nails for humans but for women ?) to hold to my arm. No sausage involved.
Not all humans were not domesticated by grass but only british.
