Re: Screenshots
Insurance payouts used to be capped at 500 ₢ (I think they are either 250 or 500) and probably still are. Bounties are related to the ship bounty, I think, and used to be much smaller (usually not above 200 or even 150 ₢). Perhaps the ship this pirate ejected from had an unusually high bounty?

Nope, I remember it well. It was a Cobra IV with 34cr bounty. It was the last thing I killed (With a broadside military laser and three turrets) before I docked.Commander McLane wrote:Perhaps the ship this pirate ejected from had an unusually high bounty?

Yes, we know that Oolite's random name generator can create that. B&B had to famously throw away a whole galaxy because there was a planet with that name in it.

Sorry, should I delete it?
I thought I read a conversation on here some time back where it was asserted that it was just a myth.

Re: Screenshots
Things do change over time, including things likely to cause social outrage. So far as we know, Us Arse may be the name of a famous rap singer in that period. He may be showing up loaded down with priceless petroleum-based plastic jewelry, outlandish garb and just trying to get to his next show.
Considering the casual use of "iron arse" or "iron ass", I doubt anyone's parents are likely to take away their computers and write outraged letters over it in this day and age. I'd leave it in, since when you see such a name in the middle of some long hauls, it's just amusing.
Besides, it may be a perfectly innocent name in some alien language. Anyone remember the movie and tv series "Alien Nation" and what Detective Sikes name sounded like to the Newcomers in their language, Tenctonese?

Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

Now if only "A'rear Rogers" had been "Rogers A'rear" in that screenshot.
