Sanity is overrated anyway. Dull. Given the choice between living sane in current reality or living deluded in a pleasant fantasy, only a crazy person would choose the first option.

I have that when I'm driving on the M25 and get stuck in traffic.
It's when I look out of the rear window and see purple plumes I've really got to worry.

I have to agree with Greenseng, it's the enormous amount of freedom that makes this such a good game for me.
I usually do everything at the same time, except piracy (I like to be the good guy). The game is set up in such a way that there is always something to do, be it mining asteroids when you meet them, or blasting pirates when you've found them. Plus there are plenty of missions to go around, some of which are brilliant.
And sometimes it's nice to just cruise trough the galaxy while listening to music!
