From my experience the ships don't actually fight each other, they just fly in a straight line that happens to cross in the middle, ocasionally they crash and blow up but there is no laser fire. I am unsure what the problem is and whether it has anything to do with AIs (offenders not shooting offenders) and the problem occured when I increased faction size, at the same time though I also installed the neolite shipset. I noticed later that neolite was messing up some of the oxps I have been testing so that could be the problem, I will test it in compatability with a few different oxps that I inatalled at the time and get back to you on what could be causing the problem.
