Which ships is the best for bounty hunting?
I need a ship for bounty hunting. I currently have a Boa, but I need more power. I don't care how expensive it is. At least 4 engines, fast, feared by all. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi RyanHoots and welcome… I’m no expert on other ships as I only fly a Cobra MkIII. Do you mean a core Oolite ship, or an OXP ship?
If it’s the latter, have you considered the Wolf MkII? By all accounts, a fearsome ship, and well suited to the well-to-do bounty hunter.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Good Advice Brother sky Warrior.
I currently run with 2 ships(different computers): caudecus, alpha and a vortex both fearsome ships, able to take a powerful beating and still come out victorious. I really like the vortex cause I can run 150 tons of slaves and narcotics with impunity (once they are gotten from the seedy bar)and with the military grade AI, I am well protected and can do some really interesting things when I am in deep trouble. Plus having 25 long lances helps too. I can ripple them off faster than they can be ECM'd. I am currently involved with a wolf MKII fugitive and he is no match for the Caudecus. Downside is both are expensive to get and to maintain. Those 8000cr hunts are well worth it along with the cargo I can carry.
Good Hunting which ever you choose.

The Wolf Mk II is a sweet ship, right enough ... but if you can find it for sale, don't forget the Wolf Mk II SE. It's just that little bit better ...
Re: Which ships is the best for bounty hinting?
When it comes to bounty hunting, you just can't beat the fearsome Caduceus Omega.
Using the Cloaking Device to make "ambush" attacks on the Bad People, and injectors to get away again if things get a little too hot, it's damn near invincible.
It's well worth the (considerable) time and effort required to gather the credits together, and you get a real sense of satisfaction from that magic moment when you happen upon a high-tech station with a Caddy Omega for sale and enough credits in the bank to pay for it (and equip it).
All IMHO, of course!

Forgive the shameless plug, but the Contractor is literally made for the job.

Have you considered the Imperial Courier?
Not as powerful as the Caddy it's true, but it has the same speed and agility as a Cobby and an excellent energy recharge rate.
The 100 ton cargo bay is also quite handy for maximising your profits and keeping the space lanes tidy.

Good suggestions made by everyone here! I'd add to this by suggesting the SuperCobra. Faster and more manoeuvrable than the original Cobby, with, I think, more cargo space too... It's been a while since I've flown one (I've since turned to a Caddy Omega), but it's quite a nifty ship! Course, you have to decide what's realistic in your ooniverse...

And of course if we're shamelessly self-promoting, then for the ultimate in tricked-out hunter kit, save your credits for a Vortex. And it's not too bad if you're bounty hinting as well, although hunting is more fun

Well in my opinion the best fighter ship is a Xeikil, small, fast, manouverable and quite strong... it also isn't hugely expensive so you don't have to spend ages racking up the credits
(of course I to am just self promoting)

Re: Which ships is the best for bounty hinting?
I do hard level random hits missions in my Vampire MK.IV Diamondback and before that I flew a civilian model Werewolf (it is the successor to the wolf mk II). Both are good ships and are expensive (expect to lay down at least 800K), but they are under a million credits.

Great ship. Can't wait to try it out. I had to go to a tech level 14 planet (Xexedi) to find one. Thanks for the help!

For the assassin on the cheap, an adder with injection and a q-bomb. He'll never see it comin'!
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

Apologies - but I waved my katana at something other than spam and changed "hinting" to "hunting" as I suspect was your original intent!
