The Oolite category in the Elite Wiki now has 100 articles! It's coming along very nicely.

I think it's time for an actual proper front page. Anyone have any strong opinions (or otherwise) on the matter?

I think Galileo is onto something with his suggestion, of course with the additions of nice icons.. B/W ones look best I think.

BTW a headsup on some bastard named 68.248.225.138 who has spammed the help:contents page :(

Hmm, I've added some borders to the sections but for some strange reason it stuffs up the widths of the columns :? I don't have anymore time to play around with it ATM, so hopefully someone else knows what they're doing. Otherwise we'll just revert it.

I see what you mean, but know nothing about such stuff.

I fixed the column widths and it all looks very nice IMHO! I think its almost ready to be moved to the front page.

EDIT: I've went ahead and moved it to the front page. Now we need to make similar pages for each of the categories, I'll start working on that tonight but I really have to get some study done right now!

EDIT2: I made a main page for Oolite here, which is linked to from the wiki's main page.

Nice Icons...
Nice layout too.

I think the font Rik is refering to is usually called BASIC or TERMINAL.

Maybe make the log an animated *.gif, with a blinking cursor?

oh man never ask me to try to make a gif again. I HATE them.
everything works fine the with the first frame, but the subsequent frames somehow just have to be screwed up.
one instance makes what was trasparent into black! went back and redid the gifs, nice webready photoshop style, still, the moment it becomes a movie, some new horror begins. a transparency nightmare.

then I thought. what the hell. it'll be on white anyway. I'll cheat it.
so it works. looks like it should. I upload it, and of course the background isn't white.
never again!

Murgh, before starting make sure all your frames have the same color pallette. I used the Netscape 216 color pallette for my gif animations.

well, now I tried that too. Netscape 216. what could be worse? it even uploaded and looked fine on the image page only to turn black later.
I'm certainly doing something wrong but haven't the health to pursue.
