Make Stellar Frontier ships into an OXP

A few years back, I used to play Stellar Frontier. I remember my wish was to have Stellar Frontier in 3D. Since that's not likely to happen, I thought, maybe some ships could be made for Oolite? The dreadnought for example - 5 missile slots and a lot of space...
What do you think?

That would depend on what the ships looked like and if they sensibly (i.e. balanced/non-uber) fit into the Ooniverse...

I don't remember the specs of each ship (been a long time since I played, but some thing could be adapted into Oolite without problems. The speeds, if only I find them could work immediately (maybe slowed a little bit); and the amount of weapon slots could be made into the amount of missiles. Aside from the scout (useless, by the way), they'd all have Mil Shields available.
The cargo would have to be thought up somehow though, but, I think, a Freighter with 60 tonnes and the more combat ships with 10-30 tonnes would work.

Well it never has stopped anybody, but I was thinking more along the lines of a potentially popular OXP were the ships fitted neatly into the Ooniverse and were therefore used a lot by other players...

I don't know heads or tails of making any OXPs, and I don't have enough free time to learn how to do it.

Is it just me or do SF ships look remarkably similar in style to Star Trek ships? Especially those green would actually fit into Romulan fleet...
