I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

There is a similarity in the dorsal (top) part of the body. My model almost looks like a Copperhead with extended wings, especially if I reduce the width (y scale) of the tail section. Thanks EV.El Viejo wrote:[wiki]ArcElite_DataCards[/wiki]

Well... if you get stuck for a name, you could do a lot worse than call it a Copperhead... easy back-story to put together, that'd be.

Okay did some more work on the model, streamlining it a bit, and fixing all opposite coordinates to insure symmetry. This is just a beginning. I will be consulting the appropriate sections here for help. The Copperhead MkII:

A ship worthy of its historic name... I like that a lot, Solo... lovely lines.

hmmm nice ship might inspire me to make a copperhead Mk3, probably with wings facing foward and a little bit wider

Nice looking ship, Staer9... but it doesn't look much like the Copperhead anymore.
Perhaps you should choose a different name for it.

It now looks like the 2nd ship in this video - from the 1984 BBC Master version of Elite - which was a proper ship - the name of which escapes me (but somebody has already modelled it on the forum somewhere!)
Also, what's this obsession with going from a 'Mk1' to a 'Mk3'? From the original Elite Manual this only happened for the Cobra because the Mk2 had some structural problems and was never built (and as fanfic writers have noted - the change of manufacturers from the Cobby1 to Cobby3 - the failure of the Mk2 bankrupted the original manufacturer)

well, I saw that CaptSolo was modeling a mk2 and I realised the potential.DaddyHoggy wrote:Also, what's this obsession with going from a 'Mk1' to a 'Mk3'? I checked and it seems to have absolutly everything that a player ship can have (the ship stock costs 90,000) it has: E.C.M system, multi targeting system, large cargo bay, docking computers, escape pod, advanced space compass, energy bomb, scanner targeting enhancement, witchdrive fuel injectors, shield boosters, naval energy unit, galactic hyperdrive, military shield enhancement and three extra passenger berths. I can see why it costs 1,200,000 Cr moreSmivs wrote:

Yup, Cougar - that's it! Well remembered Ahruman.Ahruman wrote:Cougar? Something catty, at any rate.DaddyHoggy wrote:It now looks like the 2nd ship in this video - from the 1984 BBC Master version of Elite - which was a proper ship - the name of which escapes me
@Staer9 - didn't realise there was also a Mk2 in the offing - so forgive me - it all makes sense now...

A suggestion, Staer9… you’ve got one ship called the Wraith. Keep the feeling, and call it something in that vein… how about Spectre?
@ CaptSolo… there’s no real need for the Mk II bit, is there… just call it the Copperhead... it's worthy of it.
