OOlite 1.75.1 Windows - 'throwingSparks' on playership

Post by Griff »

my Specs: Oolite-1.75.1-test.exe (and Oolite-1.75-test.exe) - Windows

I think that there's something wrong with the shader uniform bool throwingSparks in Oolite 1.75 and up, it doesn't seem to reset back to false after it's become true - not even after docking the ship.
I've tested this by heating up a griff_cobraIII to get to the throwingsparks state, the shader uses the bool to blink the hull lights and the engine glowmap on & off to give the impression of a ship on the verge of blowing up, if the ship can recover back to full health the lights & engine never stop blinking, also there doesn't seem to be any sparks thrown off from the player ship anymore (they still appear on NPC ships though)

edit: Just managed a bit more testing by letting myself get shot up by pirates - it looks like throwingsparks doesn't become true at all from laser damage

Simply put, the player doesn’t do the whole sparks thing. Sorry.

Is that a new change or has it always been like that?
I'll have a look if i can do something with the shader uniform - "damage" to get the players ship into it's blinky light state

Code: Select all

damage int energy expressed as a percentage of maxEnergy
