But I'm going to ask...
Is it possible to have the player either a military class or police class? I think this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find it.
Probably a stupid question!

Re: Probably a stupid question!
Depends on what you mean by 'class'?
The Oolite concept of 'scan classes' is mainly about which colour the lollipop of a ship will have on the scanner. The player ship doesn't appear on the scanner at all, so its scan class simply doesn't matter. The other consequences of a ship's scan classes are all about what its AI does in certain situations. The player isn't controlled by AI at all, but by some human being. Therefore again scan class doesn't matter.

Scan class also affects friend/foe calculations and various other details. No, you can’t change the player’s scan class.

Re: Probably a stupid question!
I understand. It is as I thought. So I can't become a Naval officer then with any one shooting me becoming a fugitive. But saying that Navy personnel can't collect bounty on ships either. I will just stick to reserve missions then for Galactic Navy. That is once I get it fixed so I can accept missions again.
But thanks for the answer.

Of course you can. This would in fact be very easy to script.Fatleaf wrote:I understand. It is as I thought. So I can't become a Naval officer then with any one shooting me becoming a fugitive.
