International Space Station webcam.

Post by lave »

I found a site that has loads of webcams on it from all over the world.

It seems that now they have added a webcam not from this world lol.

You can see a live veiw of the station, earth, both, or see stuff going on inside.
Sometimes the cam is off.

I have watched as the station drifts into daylight, and seeing the earth gradually getting lighter is so cool. Watching the sun set over the earth too looks great.

They even zoomed in on the shuttle as it approached the station during it's last mission.

Some of the views are amazing and to know that it is actually live makes it even more cool.

I have sat and watched it for ages now.
I have also seen the odd lights from cities drift past as the station is on the night side of the earth and even saw a meteor flash across the earth one night too.

However, there are also some adult cams/shows there too, which is why I have given a direct link to the station cam itself, rather than givng you the main site link.

Sometimes the page don't always load for me, not sure why, but I find that refreashing the page a few times brings it up.

If you just see an image of the earth and a Mission Operations logo, then the cam is offline. You will have to check back later.

Enjoy.

Have you tried docking at full speed lately?

Yeah it is cool isn't it.

I saw that view this morning but they do move the cam around a lot to show different views.

I have seen full screen shots of the earth before and it is fun to watch the land masses slowly moving past and all the cloud formations.

EDIT..........

Forgot to mention that this site http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/tr ... index.html can be used to track the space station (and shuttle during missions) in real time.
You can then see when the station is in daylight, which is the best time to view the onboard cams.
