Hi Harry747
There are 5 optimal trade routes in galaxy 1, where the greatest differences in prices will give you maximum profits:-
Ararus - Ensoreus
Raleen - Maesin
Inera - Raale
Erlage - Xeesenri
Qudira - Bierle
Go and make some wonga!

Ararus - Ensoreus <-- This one is my bread and butter in G1, right below Ensoreus. Good cash to be made here, plus its an anarchy system, so alot of combat as well. Even better, they are very close to each other to maximize that fuel for multiple runs, and/or injector usage.

Ararus and Ensoreus are the closest to Lave so for new commanders this will be where you'll ba able to buy that docking computer the quickest.
The list I gave in my previous post is in fact in Oorder of distance to Lave

Wish this had been posted 2 weeks ago, lol
I was runnung Ra - Relaes, made some great Credits to, after some exploring I ended up doing the Erlage - Xeesenri run. More by Luck than judgment.
Wondering if you experienced Commanders could put a danger rating to each run ?
Would be helpful to know where to go to make cash and get kills (killed) and where the run would get all sleepy.

Re: milk runs
The amount of danger only depends on the political constitution of the two systems involved. The existing political constitutions in the Ooniverse are (in degrading order):Cmdr Radan wrote:Wondering if you experienced Commanders could put a danger rating to each run ?
Corporate State
Democracy
Confederacy
Communist
Dictatorship
Multi-Government
Feudal
Anarchy
You can get a little background on that on the [wiki]Powers and Organisations[/wiki] page of the Wiki.
The further up a system is on this list, the safer (and therefore less dangerous) it is. You can access the political constitution of your destination system (or any system) in the game itself by either selecting it on the chart and then visiting the info-screen (F7), or by pressing 'I' while you are on the short range chart. This will bring up some condensed information about all systems currently displayed. Their political constitutions are indicated by logos, most of which are pretty self-explanatory. They are explained on the Oolite Reference Sheet.
Therefore the only thing you need to do to assess the danger factor of your next milk run is to look up the political constitution of your destination.

The best place to find answers is onthe Wiki FAQCmdr Radan wrote:Wish this had been posted 2 weeks ago, lol
You will also find BGS.oxp will help, it conveniently displays all the political and economic types as part of the background screen.
Pressing the keyboard letter I in screen F6 (local systems) will show the details graphically.
Well it helps me, and as nursie keeps telling me I do need help!

Thanks again guys (and galls - maybe?)
Thats the beauty of being the noob
I can ask the dumb stuff and still get polite answers
ps. is it bad form (or cheating) to shoot Thargon drones instead of scooping them, to get a better kill score?
(if this question will de-rail the thread, just don't answer)

Splash them... that's what I do (and we love a derailed thread here).Cmdr Radan wrote:is it bad form (or cheating) to shoot Thargon drones instead of scooping them, to get a better kill score?
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

One could even say that a thread isn't really a thread until it has been derailed.El Viejo wrote:(we love a derailed thread here).
And the real fun only starts from there. Only if your thread has been derailed, the derailing has been derailed, then re-railed, then derailed again, and finally someone submits a post about the original content of the thread, you can say that you've seen it all.
Well, for a given amount of 'all', of course. Don't get us started on another big hobby: reviving dead threads after months or even years! The real art is to meaningfully resurrect a thread which has seen no posts for at least four years—and then derail it!
