BB Logo competition for v1.75
See this:
It's a bit old-school now.
So here's your chance to immortalise your own artwork on the bulletin board until the next beta release.
Design an 'Oolite BB' header graphic (no more than 320x96 and no less than 192x64 and in .png format) to sit at the top of the page for the next few years. Post your entries to this topic, and I'll judge a winner on the first of May.
Now, fire up the Gimp (or Photoshop, or whatever) and get on with it!

Oopsie - my cache hadn't refreshed it from the previous graphic - so I hadn't seen someone had already changed it.
Grrrr.
It doesn't even say 'BB' on it, or credit phpbb, get designing a better one now!
In the meantime, no more changing it behind my back.

Ooh, nice!
(And I see you've located it this side of Riedquat!)

I like that a lot, D... but it would probably have to be a Cobra from the core set (I suppose).
The shiny new logo in one corner of the header, with an embedded link to oolite.org, and a new phpbb logo like D's in the other corner.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Maybe ... although it's a Griff Cobra III adorning the front page of the Oolite website. Best foot forward and all that!El Viejo wrote:I like that a lot, D... but it would probably have to be a Cobra from the core set (I suppose).
However, right enough it should carry the new logo. Here's a rejigged version:

That is gorgeous, but I do agree with EV, that it should be core ships/stations, not OXP ones.
(Is it maybe time to look at updating the core game graphics, with the new features available since 1.74 and the NMSR not so 'M' now?)

OXP's are an integral part of the game, so I disagree. I think Disembodied's logo is excellent, and he beat me to it. (I was thinking of a play on the original logo with Griff's graphics (Cobra and Thargoid)). The background, with Riedquat in there, never occurred to me and is an excellent touch. Like it.Smivs wrote:That is gorgeous, but I do agree with EV, that it should be core ships/stations, not OXP ones.

Edit: Actually, could we have a version for YAH please, set H must be close.

Re: BB Logo competition for v1.75
It doesn’t need to, and it looks a bit cluttered that way. On the other hand, it says “Oolite Bulletins” right next to it, so maybe take away the “OOLITE BB” instead?Disembodied wrote:However, right enough it should carry the new logo.
No, it isn’t. Feature freeze, remember?Smivs wrote:Is it maybe time to look at updating the core game graphics

On second thoughts, if the game had brilliant in-built graphics, us shipset creators would be out of a job!

Could we have a High Res version (1920x1080) in the wallpaper thread please.Disembodied wrote:Maybe ... although it's a Griff Cobra III adorning the front page of the Oolite website. The more I look at it, the more I like it, D. If you need a little Thargoid warship to add to it, you could scale this down:
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Griff's ships all the way.
