Visited Oresrati yet?

I found a way to get to Oresrati -- the bottom left system in Galaxy 8, although I must say it borders on the impossible even with fuel collector and max fuel tanks.
How? Since I've read this I've been misjumping back and forth between Biered and Ererso (which seem to me the two systems closest to Oresrati), but never managed to get closer than 7.6LY to Oresrati. Every other combination looks even less promising. So I wonder what I'm missing.

EDIT: Never mind, I made it! The whole routine is a little more complicated than I thought and doesn't involve Ererso, but a couple of other planets instead. Provided you somehow manage to have enough fuel, it opens up completely new possibilities, because now you can arrive on Oresrati with your Galactic Hyperdrive intact. :)
After reading the achievement of these two commanders I thought I would have to give it a go. And I made it 8)
I counted four jumps to get you in the right position and the fifth to get you there. :D

If you vote NO and later get there, change to YES.

EDIT: After talking with Okti. Please give further details.

Retire to Oresrati? With all those deadly earthquakes? Tonto!

Yeah! There'll be new mountain ranges and gorges and stuff to see all the time. Lots of excitement, and i hope they will keep me sprightly and lively as well.

Actually I've been in Oresrati more than once. I also arrived there in the standard way, via a galactic jump from Galaxy 7. :)

I'm on my way there now using GH, so what other way can you get there then?

By using a series of specific intentional mis-jumps, which will get you within range, as long as you have an oxp that'll add enough fuel to let you do so. Or use Otki's latest creation (only works in trunk, I believe...) that'll handle the jumps automatically...

Pull a hard climb, just as the hyperspace countdown hits '1'... next stop, interstellar space.

No no, witchspace is in the wormhole... when you drop out of the tube, then you're in interstellar space.

When you mis-jump you exit at the half way point between where you jumped and your destination.

So lets say for arguments sake the distance is 6LY between system X and system Y. Then a mis-jump from X to Y will bring you out at the 3LY point, half way. If you induce a second mis-jump to Y from the 3LY you will be about 1.5LY from Y and 4.5LY from X. :?

With that in mind by hopping around between systems you will end up at the position in interstellar space where Oresrati is 6.8LY away. :D I was thinking of using ROT13 and explaining how to do it but I don't want to rob people the satisfaction of working it out as it is a great feeling when you go the map and see that wonderful figure of 6.8LY :D :D :D

And, remember, every mis-jump you will encounter the bugs  So a cloaking device is recommended if you don't want to spend all night in battle. As injecting away uses up precious fuel.

One of my commanders already retired there and opened a shop in a rock hermit! Guess selling what? :D
