It's very easy to force a mis-jump... as the countdown hits '1', pull a hard climb... then you'll get to 'meet' Thargoids.

I agree with Break, cheats can be useful in certain circumstances, lets face it we've all Q-mined and energy bombed at some time or other as a last resort (not necessarily at Tionisla though), and its easy enough to uber your ship, however there are levels of cheating that can go beyond the pale, eg editing your kills to 6399, not that anybody on this board would do anything of the sort. If you don't get there by fair means there's no personal satisfaction.

Yep. You can yell "I'm Elite, I'm Elite!" as much as you want but at the end of the day, the only person who cares that you're Elite is you, and the only person who knows whether or not you earned it or cheated is also you - so it's really a question of how much you respect yourself and how much you value your own achievements.

Oolite does detect some cheats.

I think it only detects money cheats, but I can be wrong.

Oolite does tend to notice any editing done on the save game. However, apart from saying 'possible cheat detected', Oolite doesn't do much about it... :)

I've made Elite twice on Oolite, also on the Amstrad cpc128, TNK and Xelite (it's why I've got grey hair)

4 times here.

Once on the C64 (Although that took many years.) Left the game; years later came across a tool to read the save-game; found out I was missing 86 kills if I remember correctly; pulled out my old C64 and played to Elite.
Twice on Elite+ (Has reduced kill-count to reach Elite, so twice counts as once really)
Once in Oolite. (But that commander did the TOGY q-bomb cheat and a lot of q-bombing/energy bombing in densely populated places. Felt like cheating, so he's retired. Current commander is Dangerous and will probably never make Elite. I'm playing it as I think it should be played, and that means slow progress.

I did reach Deadly in FFE and PC CGA-elite as well.

You have misunderstood Sir; More of something that makes you distinguished makes you more distinguished. (Common logic!)

My grey hair are not due to Oolite but each one is due to a woman.
And I have plenty (grey hair)

The real questions are: a) are they all due to the same woman, b) is each hair due to a seperate woman, and c) are you hairy or almost bald?
