I've noticed a weird thing with the latest nightly. Randomly, when pirates beset me, Oolite CTDs. The only constant is that I've got the FPS display on (to check TAF). When I turn it off, no CTD.
Happens usually with more than one pirate going at me, but recently I battled through five to get attacked 5 mins later by another two and CTD... argh...
No other constant. Different pirate ships (standard, not OXP), different systems...

And I confirm - CTD on F1 with spoken messages on does not happen anymore. Thanks devs!

Re: Feb 11 nightly CTD with FPS display on
Zireael: To help us nail it, please do the following:
1. Download the 13th Feb nightly.
2. Start the game, then exit. Find the file .GNUstepDefaults inside oolite.app\GNUstep\Defaults.
3. Open this file in a text editor. Inside the block named "oolite", add this line:
4. Remove the Furball-1.0a1 OXP.
5. Restart Oolite and playtest for a while. If there are still crashes, please post the log that will be produced.
6. If no crashes occur, please re-add Furball and play till it crashes, then post the log.
If something in the above seems unclear, give a shout here.

Re: Feb 11 nightly CTD with FPS display on
If it helps, I get no errors from Furball in r4324.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Re: Feb 11 nightly CTD with FPS display on
I got two more random crashes today, this time on targeting some random pirate (standard ship, not OXP). I deleted the most likely culprit - Target Autolock - and I had no crashes anymore.
I downloaded the nightly later and as of right now, no probs. But thanks for the tips!
