Logging to BB
Hi
The only problem I am experiencing is, when I am logged in to BB if I change to another Post and try to post a reply Logging status changes and I am forced to log again. The frustrating thing is I usually lose the message text which I spend some time on it. Any Idea?

Re: Logging to BB
Seems that somebody else has or had a similar problem, probably related to the new BB.
However, the Testing and Bug Reports-forum is about testing and bug reports for the game Oolite, not for problems with these boards. Anything not related to the game should be posted in Outworld.

Moved - from Testing and Bug Reports.
(I know that's slightly outside my remit - but seemed harmless and sensible - I'll go back to sharpening my katana now)

I could have sworn that this topic bounced back once.

It still remains in 'testing and bug reports' as well... in fact, it's repeating there.

It's labeled as 'Moved' in T&BR, though.

Re: Logging to BB
Nope my fault - there was a tick box and I didn't untick - see that's why I should stick to sword sharpening...
I think I can fix it...
Standby...

Re: Logging to BB
Nope - going to have to delete it completely from T&BR, unless one of the real admins wants to tell me what I did wrong first... (shadow tick box is not what I thought it was obviously...)

Re: Logging to BB
Testing something...
Edit: Test successful. More so than expected.
1. In T&BR, the thread is marked as Moved, with an arrow instead of the usual piece of paper.
2. My new post (the one I'm now editing) did not push the thread up on the list. This means a) that the poster(s) that posted before the thread moved can still find it in its original place, but b) the thread will sink to the bottom of the pile, regardless of whether it is kept alive in its new location. Rather nifty, if you ask me.
3. When I tried to edit after having confirmed my suspicion (That's #2, in case you wondered), I was told the thread was locked. I had to switch to the thread's new location in Outworld before I was allowed to make my edit.

Re: Logging to BB
It's my fault - I moved the topic - but accidentally left the Shadow tick box ticked - so that's what the BB is doing. Problem is - I don't appear to be able to do anything to the thread in T&BR that doesn't affect this one - i.e. lock it, so I presume delete it would be the same.
I think copying it to a new thread and deleting the one in T&BR (which I think will probably kill the one in Outworld off too) - but I don't know - and I've done enough - back to spam hacking only for me...
Apologies...

Re: Logging to BB
Ignore the "locked" thing - that was me playing - locking it in T&BR locks it here too - that's why I suspect I couldn't delete it either - nice to know if that my PM to A_C fails - it will sink without a trace in T&BR eventually.CheeseRedux wrote:Testing something...

To be honest, all of these posts could be deleted out because of the distraction from the original posed question - but like I said - I've learned my lesson - spam buster only now - good intentions and all that... (or more precisely the original sensible, but misplaced, query could be moved to a new similarly named thread and then this one nuked from orbit, and then I could pretend I didn't cock it up)

Re: Logging to BB
Ah, never mind #3 then. But my main point, and the reason for the test, was that having the ghost of the thread in its original place is a Good ThingTM, as it allows for easy finding by previous posters, while having it not refresh to the top of the list lets gravity do its work.
As of the off-topicness here, I'd say a certain amount of that is to be expected while we test out our new toy...
