Currently Dangerous with just over 1020 kills.

Recently upgraded from a Python to a Boa, mainly bought it for the increase in speed and cargo capacity over the Python. What I didn't count on was the increased size. Manually docking that bugger results in lots of scraping (and lost cargo). I also didn't count on the bigger profile this ship presents to pirates. That's putting my bounty hunter role on hold so I'm probably only going to be getting defensive kills in the near future.

Cruising chart 2, mainly doing passenger runs, but contemplating jumping to chart 3 in the near future.

(Back to reality..) Once I get my Oolite-occasionally-crashing-when-entering-hyperspace issue sorted (and that may require a reinstall of my OS...Getafix, I haven't forgotten this...), I might have a crack at the Ionics mission before leaving chart 2.

I've worked for ages as an honest trader, so I had a meagre 270 kills racked up.

But now with my Imp Courier, I plan to begin hunting the guilty! :D

Currenty at 322, and increasing...

Reached Elite on my ZX Spectrum back in the day and dangerous on the original PC version so there's hope yet.

500 kills and counting!
I reached ELITE rating on the "Elite Plus" version many moons ago.
Hoping to reach it again with Oolite, but damage repairs and the other economic
factors make bounty hunting a real career! Then there is the temptation of
SuperCobras and Vortex fighters...So many new things to do! So many OXPs...!

PS
Man, I love this version of Elite...It is better than most lame clones made
by the big comp game corps - Simple but complex too, and perfect gameplay.
My hat is totally off to the gents who made this masterwork!

Currently in Galaxy 7 doing a bit of trading and lots of Hits and Assassinations.
The Mafia consider me an annoyance apparently (as if I care!), and a few families keep wasting more kin trying to revenge some of my former 'aquaintances'
I'm having a great time.
Total worth (ship and cash) is now around 1 120 000Cr.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Sure… and I’ve got some nice Arzaquarian Ultraweed onboard.

5465 kills so far, and I haven't even made it out of Galaxy 4!

Currently helping out Executive Spaceways with their little problem...

I vaguely recall reaching "Very Deadly" on my Dad's Acorn Archimedes, though... Which corresponds to 8000+!

I was irked to never make it to Elite, but I found that the game got rather tedious and repetitive after a while... I eventually ended up travelling to every single world, recording data such as the data in the planet info screen, colour, whether it had a moon or not, the colour of the sun, the name of the trading company (there were different names, which I found corresponded somewhat to the sun colour and existence of a moon!), all planets within range and so on... Even what planet you'd Galactic hyperspace to, although that required saving and restarting to continue! I don't think that I ever got beyond Galaxy 3, so I'm in completely new territory!

At some point I might have a bash at putting the ArcElite missions into an oxp (the missions were different!), if I get enough scripting under my belt, and can find enough data to get the original text! Should be able to find it lurking on the internet somewhere...

Reminiscing over, let the slaying continue!

I can help you there. I'm your man for everything ArcElite and if not me, then Simon Challands (if you can locate him). You can find some of the original dev stuff on my occasionally-useful-but-unfinished-and-only-randomly-updated ArcElite site here (for the Archimedes version, nothing to do with Oolite or OXPs) and I also wrote up the mission info on the Elite Wiki (here for example) which includes the mission text extracted from the original files. Good luck and have fun.

EDIT: updated to include signature + links!

Cheers! Most useful!

It occurs to me that the rewards would have to be changed...
The Zartid mission gave you yaw boosters, which are standard in Oolite, and the MisLoc system is very similar to the target reticule... A few slight adjustments are needed!

The GalFam mission and the Groigan disease should be fairly easy to implement, though!

Please note that I implemented elements of these ArcElite missions into my widely-praised ArcElite fanfic "Vendetta" (link) some years back. Give it a read, you might actually enjoy it!

My little snippets of poetry were quite praised too. Ah, those were the days...

I always wondered - Apart from the coded missions, is there any point to jumping to a new galaxy?

Are there advantages?
