Anybody got a bit storage space for a download link?

Post by LittleBear »

Asked my Firm to set up a page with download links to 3 word documents. So they did:

http://www.dpp-law.com/recruitment/

But as they don't know how to do download links to the 3 word documents they just copied the documents into the web page and expect applicants to C & P them into a word document and email it back, rather than downloading the document and then emailing it back to us.

I could put them up on my free box account and send Central Command a link, but I'm a bit worried about running out of bandwidth during the application month (resulting in myself and my co-piolt being bent out shape by the BSB).

Has anyone got a Buisness Box or similar account I could upload about 100ks worth of text to?

If so could you send me a PM and I'll email you the files?

Thanks
OXPS : The Assassins Guild, Asteroid Storm, The Bank of the Black Monks, Random Hits, The Galactic Almanac, Renegade Pirates can be downloaded from the Elite Wiki here.

The quirk lies here:

They only need to upload the word documents to the server (any location will do, but probably it is best to have them in the same folder as the page, or a subfolder thereof), and then create a link to that location.

For instance, if the page itself is named http://www.dpp-law.com/recruitment/index.html, the documents could go into the same folder, and therefore be named http://www.dpp-law.com/recruitment/applicationform1.doc etc. Then there is only a link to this URL needed, and the whole traffic stays on the firm's site.

(Just as an aside, I hate word documents for forms. Even after all these years the document will look differently on a Mac than on Windows. If they want the incoming applications to have a similar look, they should use one of those typable PDF forms instead (whatever that's called correctly).)
