Oolite on the PSP

Post by Selezen »

I was Googling for any versions of Elite that are playable on the PSP console, and I stumbled across this post on the official Frontier forums:

I have finally got round to buying a PSP, which I got at a nice price on ebay, and have had some thoughts about Elite on the PSP. Firstly I'm thinking it would be great to have Elite/Frontier/First Encounters working on this device. I think it would be great to have these games (or even one or two) updated for the PSP. If this is not deemed viable then maybe we can have a version of Elite 4 running on the PSP (If a version of Elite 4 is going to be developed for the PS3 then why not ?) - providing of course that the PSP is still mainstream when E4 is released. I'm also getting a feeling that there will be a successor to the PSP (PSP II probably) so it may be worth pursuing even then.

I'm even wondering if Oolite can run on the PSP.

I guess a search on Google may in order. . .

I quick search "Elite PSP" brought up two interesting links. Looks like someone has managed to get Frontier to work on the PSP, but because it is still in beta it will be a little slow in places. I wonder if they can do the same with FFE ?

Interesting idea, though - I wonder if anyone would be able to port Oolite to PSP?

You'd first need to port an Objective-C compiler :)
