Earlier in the week would be better for me, but 25th might be possible if all else fails (away for the weekend from the 26th, and ma & pa coming down to kid-sit to arrive on the 25th).

I'm Spartacus for 25th Nov as I live in London!
But where is the Coach & Horses?
And how will we know each other? Red Rose bent into the shape of a Cobra Mk III?
But I'd be there if peeps are up for it.

EDIT: Oops - that particular site shines a rather less than stellar light on the place. I can only assume that things have changed dramatically over the last couple of years since we always get great service there.
The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
On a previous occasion A_C did sport an Oolite logo on his person, but everybody else went along hoping for the best...
One option could be for us to wear distinctive hats, I believe there's already an example we could follow!
Failing that, I suppose making a reservation should solve this particular problem: we could always ask any member of staff where our table is... That should do the trick!

Hey, free OXPs: farsun v1.05 & tty v0.5! :0)
They have room on the 25th.
Do we want to book a proper christmas menu and whatnot, or just a couple of pints and whatever they have on the menu?
The XMas menu is either a small buffet (£7-£9 depending on how many items), 2 courses for £16pp or 3 courses for £19pp. The menu starts from sides at £2.50, sammiches from £4, mains from £7-£13.
(I'll see about scanning in the menus.)
They requested that we should have numbers & food decision by early next week, if at all possible.

And Trumble Ice-cream for pud
Apologies by the way as I won't be able to make this. The drive down from Notts (and parking) is a dis-incentive, and the train looks to be about £50.00 or thereabouts. Ouch!
If there's anyone in or near the East Midlands...?

I'm supposed to be at work that day and therefore about 100 miles from London, but there's a slim chance I can get that day off and if I can time it correctly, drive to Kew Gardens, throw the car into a road side car parking space as the parking restrictions lift at 10am (it's an odd road - 9.58am and it looks like there's 50 curb-crawlers cruising for some action) then tube it in to central London for some Christmas shopping and the Oolite get together in the evening.
It's a million to one shot...

Congratulations! You just have made absolutely certain that it will work.DaddyHoggy wrote:It's a million to one shot...
Myself I'll certainly not be there. Google maps gives me a distance of about 650 km and an estimated travel time of 4 days and 1 hour on foot. (Which is astonishingly fast, even given that 200 km will be spent on ferry. But still, 100 km per day? On foot??? This must be what the disclaimer about route planning for walkers being in beta stadium means. )
