Ok not that this is an "actually going to happen thing" (and why do I always end up posting these things?) Anyway as it has been requested by several people now.

If there were to be a quiet after work or weekend drink somewhere in central London some time in the next few weeks to months.

1) Where would be good
2) what date would be good
3) what time would be good.

For me anywhere round wells street of oxford street would be great maybe for a couple of hours after work (weekends are a little more tricky)

I know that Micha & Kaks have already expressed an interest. So thoughts?

My vote is Central London for 'where'. Specifically, Wells St is 5 mins walk from my workplace so would get a big thumbs up :)

'When' I am flexible, mostly. During the week gets my preference, any day except Tuesdays are usually good. Timewise if during the week, anytime after 1800 works, although I'll take any excuse to get out earlier!! Weekends, assuming I'm free, anytime.

Specific pub suggestions: the "Coach and Horse" on the corner of Great Marlborough St, & Poland St. has a very nice cosy room upstairs.
The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Central London works for me too. I work at Lloyd's EC1M. Weekdays only for me though.

Cheers,

Drew.

You'll have to Skype me in and I'll share a virtual pint, London's a bit too far for me to go. :)

So initial suggestions and limitations suggest:

Weekdays after 6pm, not on a Tuesday, possibly (I'm liking this one) at the Coach and horses.

I would suggest not a Friday because you wouldn't get near a seat (or near the building for that matter, given London drinking).

What are peoples thoughts on the weeks starting 14th or 21st of November?

That's 2 weeks away!! :(

What about an '8 weeks to christmas' weekly thing, starting tomorrow night? ;) J/J.

Seriously though - as far as I can tell, both of those weeks are fine according to my calendars, so I'll run with the majority.

As for seats, once we decide on a date & venue, we should book a table. Who knows what craziness ensues in the lead-up to the midwinter festival.

Can tables be booked at the Coach and horses? Doesn't the entire table booking thing in pubs in London cost money?

I'd probably be up for it again, although my schedule between now and Christmas is looking horrible. I think I'm due to be spending more weekdays in France than England.

Sounds like all we need now is a slightly more specific day than non-Friday, and we're done! :D

I myself should be able to make it any time between 6 & 7 pm, depending on a number of as yet unknown factors... ;)

Ok as thargoid's schedule appears to be a choke point then how about him suggesting dates that he can make it. As the rest of us appear to be quite flexible.

For me it would be weeks beginning 22nd Nov or 6th Dec.

But don't fix it around me, if that's not good for too many people then by all means pick another date and go on without me.

Works for me. :)

And if anybody wants to meet up beforehand, you know, just to sample the location, let me know. *g*
