Why thank you. I'm sorry the cargo space isn't up to much. the kirin solves that but you sacrifice speed and a touch of fire power.

We will be making this ship better! cosmetically first then maybe some child object armour (if it works out on the dragon that is). :)

Well, it isn't so bad, i use the Caduceus mostly for fighting, hauling valuables, and some light trading. It really gives an edge in doing missions. Been burning trough missions though, so I guess I need to brush off my javascript and start adding to the missions. I have some ideas, better start reading the wiki!

Do you recall reading about the rumors regarding an over class Caduceus? Keep your eyes (and wallet) open!

Yeah, I've seen the Caduceus Omega for sale, I am currently saving up, just a few 100K away!

Add a hyperspace cargo system with the Omega and it is more than enough.

The Caduceus is a predatory ship that just destroys all in its path and looks amazing as well.

What operating system are you using, and what version of Oolite are you running?

And what, if anything, is the latest log saying about it?

Does the Caddy have any issues with Superhub OXP?
It's incredibly large but still using a non-standard dock "port", so I don't know if it'll work ok.
Having completed my tests, yes...the Caddy docks just fine with the SuperHub. Whatever problems it had with the fuel station may be due to the much smaller size of the opening of the fuel station...the SuperHub's opening is HUGE by comparison.

Crash!

Post by onno256 »

Daaamn, had a system crash a week back, so I've been set back a couple 100k.

Still, an oppertunity to replay a few missions..... Should have backupped more often I guess....

That will teach me!

I'm considering moving from a SuperCobra to a Caduceus, but one thing that is putting me off a bit is the flashing that you get from the lasers. I understand that you've designed it so that it's highly accurate, which is a bonus, but I find the peculiar shapes and flashes rather distracting and they get in the way a bit. So, despite the fact that 'tis more accurate than other ships, I'd like to know how to go about editing it to a more normal level of inacurracy. The best settings to do so would be useful if you happen to know them, but if you don't, what do I need to edit in the shipdata.plist, and I can have a play around and find out what works!

Interestingly, the specs for the Caddys are different from those in the read-me and on the wiki page. The ones I can buy in-game have a max speed of 460, whereas elsewhere it is said to be 400. Also the cargo hold sizes are different: In-game, the Alpha has 30 (+10), the Omega 36 (+14), whereas it is described in the read-me/wiki as 25 (+15) and 20 (+10).

On a side note - I find the Seedy Bars in Random Hits to be a good place to find Caddys. I see them there occasionally, whilst I've only seen them at a station once. I'm currently in the Ausar system (Anarchy, TL 4, Galaxy 2) and the bar has three on offer: one standard model Alpha (although it was charging 1201000 Cr for it, which is odd...), one Alpha with a Naval Energy Unit, and a standard Omega! I'm tempted to trade in my SuperCobra for the Omega and kit it out with an iron ass (although I'd have to survive a couple of jumps to get to a TL 14 planet, as I don't quite have the credits to pay the additional fees that the Seedy Bar charges...

Anyways, if I can solve the laser thing, I'll do a bit of testing, and think about switching; if not, I'll stick to my SuperCobra, and admire them from afar!
