[Solved] Oolite svn-trunk-r3776: Bad load/save

Post by jpab »

Just been starting from scratch with a new commander and a new build, no OXPs.
This is built on Ubuntu 10.04, following the instructions in
https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=4595
Using a clean checkout from trunk, r3776.

Played for a little while, including saving my new commander several times, and reloading a few times.
Suddenly, it won't reload, giving the error:
Failed to load saved game "Dalssonn.oolite-save": Could not find ship type “cobra3-player” - please reinstall the appropriate OXP.

Any clue as to what could have caused this?

Log and save file available of course, if they'll help.

Ubuntu 10.04 and 10.10 ship with broken versions of GNUstep (1.19.3) as detailed elsewhere. The issue you described is a classical symptom.

Either compile GNUstep yourself (Versions up to 1.19.2 are ok and from 1.20.1 onwards) or you can download precompiled GNUstep 1.20.1 (inc. dev libraries) from debs.oolite.org for lucid and maverick.

The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Great, that fixes it! Thanks very much.
Sorry I didn't do a better search before posting (I'll blame playing at 5am).
