I had an VB program somewhere that made excel into a mandelbrot set - it took a very long time to run....

I had for several years a fractal printout in my corridor. Probably 1 meter high and 3 meter wide. Made from single A4 sheets. Every sheet was a calculated page, created in one night per sheet on my C64 computer.

Bows head in awe and then asks the question - what colour printer did you have for your C64? (I had b&w MPS801 and later 803)

The colour depended on the ribbon used. For the fractals I used very old ribbons were the black was used up and re-coloured it myself with green and red ink. That big one was printed in red, but currently I still have some very small version hanging at home in green. Printer was a starprinter NL10 when I remember right.

Good grief!! F*** me sideways with a hippo!! Those are extraordinary! I've always loved Mandelbrot stuff - used to see it for real when I was into LSD back in the 60s!

Those 3D images are just staggering tho' - absolutely beautiful... wow...

...mind you it was pre-decimal!

I used to refer to them as 'squirgle patterns' - kept me amused for hours!
