That is cool, I can only open the first page though. something about xml not being supported. :(
(edit: it's my incorrect use of <!--- comment---> again, I fear.)
The comments are recognised as such in my editor so I don't think there is any problem there. I did notice the first 3 characters () in the file were abnormal though, I'd delete those if I were you.

I hope you edited the latest version(v1.2) I made a LOT of typo-corrections etc in that last version late last night.
Yep, that's the one I edited.

Ah, here we go. This page answers the question of the 3 strange characters and why I can see them but you can't.

Ah! so save in UTF-8 w/o BOM. :) good, doesn't explain that BOM being there though, unless Word (weird) took it uppon itself to ignore my wishes and include it anyhow. :(

Should be sorted now. anyway.

What kind of syntax does plist employ enyhow?
is it perl?
I can't find XML or plist in the syntax list of the prog i'm using now.
plist-extension IS supported though.
but not for saving...i think.

 I should let Murgh do the plists.

ah you should, should you?

I'm following your XML education with great interest. it is fully possible to write legit XML plists on Windows, right?

hehe
It is very tempting to just dump the entire thing into your mail-box...

Put some screenies on my space...
working on the fuelpod, this is the current look, will add some more shading FX and wearage.

The BOM thing looks like being the solution, but XML comments are <!-- -->, not <!--- --->, and that could potentially cause problems somewhere. Also, comments must not contain any other double hyphens.

Yes - use a text editor like Vim (Vi Improved). They are just text files.

how about different max jump distances for different ships
so it could be worth trading in your ship for one that makes large jumps
but carries less cargo / has less shields / ... in order to get to the other
side of the galaxy fast.

No we can't, teehee.

Nice to see you so enthused about Oolite.
You are asking the questions everyone new to Oolite asks, so it's been discussed multiple times, possibly even in the Suggestions-FAQ-sticky.

What it boils down to is:
Giles (Aegidian) intended Oolite to have the feel, atmosphere and gameplay of Elite, not Frontier or Eve. :)
So don't start about more relativistic mechanics...

For purists there is Oolite-strict, which is as close to the 1980's game as possible.
For those who love Elite, but have been spoiled by other games, there are the OXP- or Oolite eXPansionpacks.

Thanks to Giles´ grand vision, anyone with a texteditor can (with quite some looking at examples and asking questions) write additional stuff for Oolite.

ehh. yes. um, anyhow. welcome to the cOomunity, I hope you will stick around and maybe start to OXP yourself. 8)

Welcome to our Ooniverse!

If you really want a bit of Frontier in your Oolite, download my Eagle Mk 2 from Oosat if you like.

I have an experimental OXP with an Imperial Courier in it, so if you want that too, send me a PM. It's not quite finished, cos I think the ship speeds need tweaking a bit, but it's there if you want to play.

That goes for everyone too...I'll OOsat it up once I'm happy with the performance. PM me in the meantime.

The way to achieve this is to increase the ships overall fuel capacity from 7LY, I don't know wether this is possible in Oolite.

My cougar in Xelite has 14LY so you can skip across a galaxy twice as fast.
