That's the one available on Griff's box... it's been on my machine for a couple of weeks.
Some people have found that the full texture version drops the fps, but I've had no problems.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

VERY nice!
I thought these were just wallpapers/fan art. I didn't realize they were from an OXP!

heh, lovely screenshotting A_C. i just noticed though that some of those black 'cable' type lines running along the walls suddenly do a Z shaped bend for no reason at all, i should have at least made an effort to draw a box or a pipe or something on the wall to explain need for a change in direction

Just so that these don't disappear in a witchspace misjump vortex, I have uploaded the screens collected during these two (or is it three? Jeez, time flies) years that I've been following Oolite's development. Most of them have appeared in the Screenshots thread, but there are also a few that haven't. These are the screens used in the Oolite Screensaver, packed in a zip file and cover versions from 1.65 to 1.74.2.
Download will be alive for 15 days, so anyone interested, grab it while it's hot:

Darkbee, you may want to catch up with this, you may find lots more "wallpapers and fan art" published in the time you've been away, that could be of interest.

I've been working on Far Arm ships texturing, mainly fiddling with Oolite materials.
Here are some results (expect Far Arm shps 2.0 - normalmapped release soon), click on the pics to see 'em bigger:
Tanker
the mighty Titan
A couple of more atmospheric shots:
Scow (not so 2D viewport anymore )
Cruiser

Not really. Even if it ends looking like one, the concept comes from elsewhere.Killer Wolf wrote:Is the Titan supposed to be some kinda mega Viper variant?

Getting to make the Baakili look more like its description, thanks to 1.74.x material model / shaders:

Download GIMP (if you haven’t already got it) and resize them there first.
GIMP is really good for playing with pics… and other stuff.
Or Photobucket does resizing quite well.

Are you completely insane? (don't answer that)El Viejo wrote:Download GIMP (if you haven’t already got it) and resize them there first.

Gimp is a bit overkill to resize an image. That's like saying buy the latest ironass AlienWare gaming system worth $3000 to play the original Elite!
I use the freeware image view IrfanView, it does a pretty good job. Also, saving the images as PNGs will ensure better quality, you start to get lots of artifacts in the image when using JPGs.
XNView is another good (and also free) image viewer that is growing on me like a baby trumble.
Can I just say while I'm here, some of this artwork is simply breathtaking btw. I'm utterly in awe. Fantastic work guys (and gals).
