sadly it crashes for me, when I jump to another system..
and the screen shots I take, look distorted, almost as an out of tune TV, with everything at high, and 1440 by 900 resolution(flatscreen maximum)

Looks like they do. That's a very old article though, a bit out of dateClymAngus wrote:
I think they like us. Cool.
maybe any one here who also goes there should up-date it.

From the comments section (last one by JazHaz in April) there's a lot of user names from Space Sim Central that I recognise from this BB too.

It's certainly quite impressive, but relies too heavily on the use of third-party/external views.
I think one of the most immersive elements of Oolite is the way you're effectively strapped in your cockpit with just the main view-screen in front of you. And with the right OXPs the view you get is far more believeable.

I think Oolite and Pioneer are quite different games. I like Pioneer for Planet exploring. I wish that there was a new game combining Pioneer with Oolite. I believe that the fighting in Pioneer will be Newtonian (which I hate) Fighting in Oolite is much more fun. But the systems in Pioneer and the surface rendering is what Oolite can't offer (well at the moment).Smivs wrote:It's certainly quite impressive, but relies too heavily on the use of third-party/external views.

does it "rely" on the views or were they just the best way of showcasing the video? i can't recall using external views too much in the original game.
the collision detection in that must be pretty damn good if you can land anywhere on bumpy planets. wonder if they're gonna do "PXP"s, wouldn't mind seeing some of my Vampires flitting around that scenery.

Maybe you can contact Potsmoke66 on Spacesim Central on how to convert some of your models. Would be nice to see them also in Pioneer.Killer Wolf wrote:does it "rely" on the views or were they just the best way of showcasing the video? i can't recall using external views too much in the original game.
