Oolite Screen Shots folder on Desktop

I've noticed that Oolite now puts a folder on my Desktop called "Oolite Screen Shots".
How can I change the location of this? (I'm a bit funny and don't like stuff on my Desktop.)

It is actually consistent mac behaviour. When you make screen shot with Macs own "Cmd-shift-4", it also will end up on the desktop.

On the mac, files should end up somewhere at the home folder (that is private to the user) and not were the programs are. (All users can see that folder). But screen shots have no dialogue were to save, so its put on the desktop. It is the user that must move it now manually. I agree that I would have liked the possibility to define the folder, but the old place was dead wrong: When I make a screen shot and log out, an other in-logger should not be able to see my screen shot like it was before.

For 1.75 it will be possible to move the screenshot folders to a more convenient location, and the mac will remember where the folder has been moved to.

It's something that can only be done in OS 10.6 and above, though...

Look harder. Two different mechanisms are used, one of which works back to System 7. :-)

Oops! Didn't know that.

Excellent! Who knows, maybe it's the tip of the iceberg, and soon we'll get complete system 7 compatibility!

I once took a stab at porting the Objective-C runtime to Mac OS 9. I think I’ve lost the code, though.

To late now. It was two weeks ago that I disconnected my last mac that was used with system 7.

I'll agree that screenshots should be in the user domain rather than in the Applications folder. (Could non-admin accounts take screenshots in Oolite previously?)

You can of course change the location of OS X screenshots with:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /path/to/folder

Perhaps all the Oolite user files, screenshots and saved games, should be in Documents or ~/Application Support/Oolite ....?

Good question, but I think it was not possible. I just logged in as guest with OSX 10.5 and launched Oolite 1.73.
No error on making a screenshot, but also no screenshot file to be found. I assume this will be the same for other users without admin permission.
