Oolite 1.74

[Hemlock]

I have downloaded this version and installed it on my laptop. All good so far. But when I run the version all I get is that little splash screen which stays forever and the actual program never runs.

Any ideas please?

I am running:
Windows XP Professional SP2
2.0 Gb Ram
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100

Tons of errors from - possibly outdated - oxps.

Could you please rename the AddOns directory to something else before starting Oolite? If Oolite then starts normally that'll mean there's one oxp 1.74.x isn't particularly happy about.

If that's the case we can then start looking at which oxp/oxp version is causing Oolite to misbehave!

Incidentally, do grab 1.74.1 and check your problem with that version, 1.74 is already old!

Only OXP I now have installed is morrigan.oxp (for my saved game).

I will now install a few oxp at a time and try to narrow down the problem..

Looking at the list of OXPs, I remember having problems immediately with 1.74 and it turned out to be ORBITS.OXP.

From the errors I'd say your three culprits are UPS, Galactic Navy and Caduceus (or perhaps NeoCaduceus - I can never tell those two apart).

There are certainly updates for UPS and NeoCaduceus available (I'm temporarily hosting the latter whilst ClymAngus gets his web hosting issues resolved). Not sure about GN though, and whether those three are the source of all your ills.

I have updated those that I can, and removed some I no longer needed and now it is working....

I guess the process of reviewing my list of used OXPs will continue.
