From the OXP's page on the wiki:silly_sad wrote:1.74 + localhero

That should probably say "and 1.74 release" as well. The page also includes a note that the OXP is "currently under heavy development", but there's no telling how current that is. The OXP Corps is an all-volunteer army, and I think they do amazing work even so.This OXP does not run properly under Oolite v1.65 and the current 1.73 release, but an updated and expanded version will be released when done.

Svengali is working very hard to make Local hero work with the very useful and whizzy new bits of scripting code - when it's ready it will be awesome...
Oolite Life is now revealed hereSelezen wrote:Apparently I was having a DaddyHoggy moment.
@silly_sad: Simply remove it. It won't work in v1.73, v1.74 or trunk and could even cause trouble in the current form.
@caracal: there's no 'how current' - it's on ice, even if I'm sometimes working on it.
@DaddyHoggy: Thanks John. But you're right, even if not finished it has already influenced oxps (Snoopers, Vector and OXPConfig) and without it they wouldn't have seen the light at all. It's not obvious, because LH2 has nothing to do with the released version and I think only a few people know more about it (hehe, Kaks - aargh, flags) .-)

Oh man, I sure know how that goes!Svengali wrote:@caracal: there's no 'how current' - it's on ice, even if I'm sometimes working on it.
I didn't point silly_sad in your direction because your name doesn't appear on the OXP's page (pretty common for OXP pages not to identify their author, or even exist) and I couldn't be arsed to download the package and look in the source.
Very cool. Being a pioneer has its drawbacks (like, you often have the very oldest code and thus the hardest to update), but it also has benefits. Which are often greater for others than for the pioneer himself! To you, and to all OXP writers, a hearty and heartfelt Thank You!.Svengali wrote:But you're right, even if not finished it has already influenced oxps (Snoopers, Vector and OXPConfig) and without it they wouldn't have seen the light at all. I'm looking forward to LH2 whenever you can finish it. I remember playing LH back in the 1.72 days and really enjoying it.
It doesn't cause sleepless nights, but lurks somewhere in the deep and gives you some knocks from time to time and a voice whispers: 'Hey - you have promised to complete me! Move, man, move!' - doesn't it? Anyway - I'm moving now in direction buoyRepair, then Vector, OXPConfig, BGS, etc... to minimize the lost month.caracal wrote:Oh man, I sure know how that goes!
Have fun with the greatest game ever... and we shouldn't forget the dev-team members who are spending endless hours for our entertainment .-)
Yes, exactly. Just when you think you finally have time to relax, this big pile of unfinished projects wanders up and starts staring at you with a mournful expression.Svengali wrote:It doesn't cause sleepless nights, but lurks somewhere in the deep and gives you some knocks from time to time and a voice whispers: 'Hey - you have promised to complete me! Those are all worthy targets. I recognize the others, but what is BGS?Svengali wrote:Anyway - I'm moving now in direction buoyRepair, then Vector, OXPConfig, BGS, etc... to minimize the lost month.

By the way, several days ago I mentioned how rare the Vector was, and you said yes, as it should be. And then the very next jump I made, there was old Arn D'ercul himself, at the witchpoint flying along with a couple of escorts. He didn't seem to mind when I flew up and joined their formation for a bit, so I could get a really good look! That is a very pretty ship, my man.

Yep - that's it. Pagroove and I are not pleased with it in the current form, so it will need some tweaking.JazHaz wrote:Background Set I believe!caracal wrote:I recognize the others, but what is BGS?
Hehe - like one of Hesperus presents - in the beginning they are small, fluffy and cute - then they start mutating...caracal wrote:Just when you think you finally have time to relax, this big pile of unfinished projects wanders up and

I've abused Ahrumans old 'Shady Cobra' shader and had a tron-like style in mind.caracal wrote:And then the very next jump I made, there was old Arn D'ercul himself, at the witchpoint flying along with a couple

Oh, and you're not after him, so he doesn't mind. But who knows what happens if you invite him on your ship...
The coming version is already using Snoopers2.x (if installed) to give some more hints, so maybe it's better to wait for it before starting your Odyssey. And I've made it modular (like Erics UPS-courier), so I can add some small 'coffeebreak missions' without hassle then.
