My Asp Explorer Mark 3 Re-design.
Watcha think? The idea was to redesign the ship as if the game was made new today.
I need to redo the cockpit and shield emitters (round dome thingys)

Very nice ship - but is it an Asp? (if you know what I mean...)
What did you do the actual drawing in? It looks "real" (i.e. pen and paint) but I guess it's been done digitally.

The line work was pencil, inked over in biro. The colouring was digitally done using a program called Art-Rage 3.0. Great little program. Its the most 'real' painting program ive ever used. It was painted using a mouse because my tablet broke!
I personally think it looks a little Asp like, i tried to keep it snake like with a flattened profile.

I'm not a natural 3d guy, ive dabbled with Google sketchup but to be honest it takes too long for my tastes. Anyone who likes my designs, want to have a go making them go for it! All i ask is a mention in the readme.

Not sure how 'Asp-like' it looks but it's really nice...very 'organic' looking, reminds me of the crashed ship in Alien (you know, the one with the eggs).RustiSwordz wrote:
