Is this a model or a drawing?
Looks like it's already in Oolite.
OK, you got me, it's not exactly a concept, it's a model. But it's not finished :). The other ships are not even in concept stage, just ideas. Will try to do a top view drawing of them when commuting in the train this week.
Ah ok. Looking forward to fresh concepts

Awesome idea. Is it even possible? :?:
Well I think so. If you look at the Superhub which has the bleu orb inside then I assume if would be possible. Anyone want to take the modelling challenge ;) ?
Yes it's possible, although not quite how PAGroove describes.

If you use the bay's AI to send a script trigger when a ship traverses it in the correct direction (same principle as with the fuel stations or the racing rings) then with suitable checking that said ship is the player use Frame's dock command to dock the player with the station.

Launch would then be done normally (hence the bay orientation would need to be considered to launch in the correct direction) perhaps with suitable timer settings to prevent re-dock on launch if needed.

And no, I don't have time to script it ;)

Croydon Kite

Fast Trader, maybe also a racer (when reconfigured). Croydon Kite.

Specs proposed (factory model_)

Cargo: 25 tc
Speed: 0.38
Energy banks 4 (but with a lower recharge rate)
Missiles:3

But it can be reconfigured to be as a commander wants. So slower is a more powerful ship and faster is a courier ship.

Here's an idea: Invading Oorg COobes!
They would start out appearing, like the Thargons and attacking ships and stations looking for advanced technology. They would be armed with Override missiles and try to knock you out and scoop you up with their docking bays, like some kind of rogue station. Once docked, they would steal all your cool extra gear and high tech ship and dump you out with the garbage. (Your game would be saved leaving you at a nearby station in a basic low tech ship and no money) Of course if you put up too much resistance they'd just zap you with normal weapons.
The higher the tech they steal the more they get to add to their own ships.

Cool! I like the idea of being scooped.

The Borg have already visited the Oolite universe, but it seems that for some reason they decided to not assimilate it. This is the only photographic evidence ever captured, acquired by a Navy recon drone, seconds before telemetry was lost ;-)

Ha! Nice one a_c.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Maybe the new Cube Map feature in trunk will help us out against them?

It might help us find them, what with being a map after all... ;-)

Maybe one of we Londoner-types should mention what Croydon brings to mind for us?

Not yet a concept, but an idea: Personally I'd like to see Capt'n Hector in Oolite. In a ship like he had in EV:O.
