Hi, Obtuseq, welcome to the boards! I'm afraid that the wiki is temporarily up the spout ... efforts are no doubt being made to get it all sorted though: see here.
Re: Wiki trouble?
There is a thread in outworld covering this topic. I have sent a pm to Winston, who is our best bet for fixing the problem. His main site www.alioth.net is up, so I fear it is database problems again.Obtuseq wrote:wiki alioth net/index.php does not appear to be responding?

Welcome to "The Friendliest Board this side of Riedquat." by the way.
Edit: Disembodied beat me to it. Follow his link.

The whole machine now has died, probably for good. It'll either be a new machine (which means a restore from the 05-Apr snapshot) or a repair to the existing one, or possibly a new machine with the old disc.
Someone has to actually go to the datacentre and look in the rack though. The other complication is I'm going to be away this weekend and almost certainly without time to work on it (and probably without an internet connection), so if it indeed needs a restore, the outage may be as long as a week.
On the other hand, if you happen to be going to Retro Rewind in Sheffield, perhaps we can share a beer.

Thanks .... not going mad then!
Thanks for the replies ....
Looking forward to downloading and reading the manual (and reliving a 25 year old memory!)

If it's mainly about the manual, you can get that from Ian Bell's website: http://www.iancgbell.clara.net/elite/manual.htm
Oh, and welcome to the boards!

Manual etc
Thanks .. got that.
I assume the wiki had more on it about settings, oxps, enhancements etc specific to Oolite ...
I had read that BGS, Redux and Griff ships were sensible oxps to add on.
Will wait for database to come back up

Re: Manual etc
Well it is the Elite Wiki, so it also has stuff about the Elite games, and the sequels, as well as Oolite.Obtuseq wrote:I assume the wiki had more on it about settings, oxps, enhancements etc specific to Oolite ...
But yes there are a lot of pages about Oolite, with OXPs etc etc.
