Planets show up correctly in the trunk, but not when the background pictures are used. In the latest trunk it seems to be corrected now. At least on a mac.pagroove wrote:BTW: anyone knows which trunk version shows the planets correctly? I hearf from Svengali that beyond 173,3 the planets in the f7 screen don't show up ??

For preciseness, this was fixed in revision 3045.Eric Walch wrote:Planets show up correctly in the trunk, but not when the background pictures are used. Pretty picture
Hi all,
I recently swapped my Boa Class Cruiser for the new Boa II Clipper, and found this beautiful planet with two moons...Bexe in Galaxy Five.
Too good a photo-opportunity to miss, I thought. Hope you like it.

Belatedly:
One extra possibility that hasn't been used yet, is to use a different background for each of the long range galaxy charts, to give each of the 8 galaxies its own unique look...
snork, screen backgrounds resize automatically according to the size of the monitor/ oolite window. That way, a particular background pixel will always be in the same position relative to all other graphic elements, regardless of resolution.
Once you've got your initial background image, the best thing to do is to take an in-game screenshot, align/resize the screenshot to make it match as closely as possible to the original image, and you can use that resized screenshot as a semi-transparent reference grid to fine tune the background picture exactly as you want it!
Edit: go, Griff, go!
Still, good to see 2 background sets already - considering that 1.74 is not released yet, it might well be somewhat of a record!another_commander wrote:... but more to showcase the possibilities of the system and keep McLane happy with an alternative to blue . ...

Hey, free OXPs: farsun v1.05 & tty v0.5! :0)
Sarin, hopefully this will provide the answer you were looking for:
run Oolite in windowed mode, and you can modify the window to see for youself how the program rearranges background pictures for just about all possible aspect ratios.
