Planetfall Taxi woes

Post by oncebytten »

Had an interesting problem occur... accepted a taxi job, saved game, returned to it the following day. Started game, landed, but could not get rid of the passenger.

Anyone else?

Have savegame file if interested, as I'm not sure this qualifies as a Windows pc version prob., or if an OXP problem.

The problem with this, is that the passenger doesn't leave automatically. You must go to the mission screen (F5 F5) on arrival for them to realise you have arrived.

Maybe you could start a Kickstarter Campaign to found your £4500 pledge. 8)

What he said. Or to also reset it, go to the same F5/F5 screen in another system and your passenger should leave in a huff.

If all else fails, let me know and I'll PM you details of how to edit the save game file to remove him.

This must be a feature ported over from FFE  I always used to get trapped passengers.

I remember trying to deliver passengers once in Frontier to a planet that was orbiting its sun so quickly that I couldn't "catch" it even with the auto-pilot - I ran out of time to fulfil contract and had to fly to another space port in the system to off-load - now very miffed passengers! (ah, got to love those Newtonian Physics...)

The F5/F5 usage was to get over the problem of mission screen conflicts. With the new way of doing it in 1.74 that's nicely overcome by default, so I'll probably re-write the code to make it work off the initial docking (at least for drop-off) when I do the update.

Thargoid

(SSSheeesssh! actually THANKING a Thargoid! Whats' Galcop coming to:-))

Couldn't off-load the client in his native system- F5 did not work, though, this seems a random event. I've taken a number of clients via taxi with no problems too.

Jumped to an adjacent system, though client didn't complain "Where are you taking me", but did get off on the Coriolis.

Thanks and anticipate the update!
